“Stress Watcher” 8x10, acrylic on masonite
My tribute to the terrible yet amazing packaging on Sega Master System games. Seen here on display at the first annual 8-Bit Buffalo art show in 2011. (Acrylic on masonite, 11x14)

Pretty sure I’m naming this big fellow “Lugbud.” (16x20, acrylic on canvas)
A 16x20 version of the little Batbot I painted recently, quoting an underappreciated modern classic.
“Prophet of the Scrap Heaps” 16x20, acrylic on canvas. The idea was to make a larger piece in just black/red/white that looked more like an ink illustration than a painting.
A little Valentine I made for my lovely wife.
I have been reading a lot of old Batman comics lately, which resulted in this quick 5x7 acrylic Batbot on masonite. I’m pretty happy with the little guy, so I’ll probably work on a larger/more detailed version soon.
“Bathed in Rust” 8x10 acrylic on canvas.
Hey everybody! Here’s a robot wielding a sword from the ’80s.
Happy Halloween! Here’s a drawing of a dancing zombie!

A DJ robot commissioned by Erin for her boyfriend Joe (with my incredibly messy apartment in the background).
I just missed the era when Letraset transfer lettering was a necessity. All of my experience with fonts has been on the computer, and I consider myself pretty fortunate that I’m spoiled by the ease of changing and editing type in design programs.
Still, I’ll always have a massive amount of respect for all the old school designers that had to painstakingly letter their work by hand, it’s a lost artform that required incredible patience and skill.
I actually bought a big pile of Letraset sheets when the local art store had few boxes of it in the clearance section. Perhaps I’m so fascinated with this stuff because I’ve never had to use it…so instead I have fun filling in the backgrounds of my silly owl paintings.
